IGY Marinas to Launch its 3rd Annual Inspire Giving through You Philanthropic Initiative on February 10th, 2018IGY Marinas will host its third annual philanthropic initiative, Inspire Giving through You, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the communities where IGY Marinas operate in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
St. MaartenSince 2000, the Nature Foundation and Environmental
Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) has been working throughout
the West Indies to further the scientific understanding of the issues faced by
the Caribbean ecosystem, educate the public about conservation, and promote
public involvement in ecological restoration and protection. Volunteers
from Yacht Club at Isle de Sol and Simpson Bay Marina will work together to assist in
clean-up of Simpson Bay Lagoon and Beach in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma and
Hurricane Maria, and will celebrate their efforts with a party afterward at Fat
Turtle. St. LuciaGreening the Caribbean is
focused on keeping waste recyclables out of Caribbean landfills. Rodney Bay Marina and its group of volunteers, along with
a local community youth group, will focus on cleaning up a 5 kilometer (3 mile)
stretch of Rodney Bay Beach celebrating with a beach party at the ending
point. Miami/Fort LauderdaleHabitat for Humanity of Broward builds
houses in partnership with families who are willing to work hard to provide
their children with a stable home environment and hope for the future.
Volunteers from IGY Marina's Fort Lauderdale Corporate Office, One
Island Park Marina, and IGY Anchor Club Strategic Partners will
work alongside the home’s future owners to make decent, affordable housing a
reality for them. St. Petersburg, Fl.Tampa Bay Watch strives
to preserve the delicate ecological balance that exists in Tampa Bay through a
variety of habitat restoration and protection activities to help the bay
recover from its environmental problems. The volunteer team from Maximo Marina will partner with volunteers from Tampa Bay
Watch, Eckard College, and the University
of South Florida to clean up the southside of the Skyway Bridge
and the accompanying park for the enjoyment of the community. Additionally,
they will provide support to educate the community about the environmental
impacts through the recycling and shore clean-up project. MexicoEscuela de Colima is an educational
institution in west central Mexico that focuses on social responsibility and
human development. The volunteer team at Marina Cabo San Lucas will work to clean up and repair
the interior and exterior of the school as well as install outdoor activities
and safety equipment. |
