Post-Hurricane Marina Updates at Dockwa

Dockwa, an online transient boat slip-booking service for recreational boaters, has joined the effort to help the boating community affected by Hurricane Matthew by offering real-time marina status reports at http://ahoy.dockwa.com/hurricane-matthew-marina-status. The data is crowd-sourced from the boating community, much of which is through the interactive cruising guidebook ActiveCaptain, with additional input from local marinas and other news outlets.

“We want to help get the news out about this invaluable resource from two organizations that are doing a great job keeping the boating community up to date on storm-affected areas,” said BoatUS Vice President Public Affairs Scott Croft. “While it looks like much of the boating community has dodged the bullet, there are some severely impacted areas.”

BoatUS partnered with Dockwa in 2015 to simplify the booking process and allow BoatUS members to find and book a slip with just a few taps on the Dockwa app. For more information on Dockwa or ActiveCaptain, go to Dockwa.com and ActiveCaptain.com, respectively.
