Nuvolari Lenard—Honored by UCINA as Nautical Pioneers Design for the 21st Century and Beyond
On June 17th, at the SATEC (Salone Accessori
TECnologie) conference, Nuvolari Lenard was presented with the prestigious
Nautical Pioneer Award (Pionieri della Nautica) by UCINA, the Italian
Maritime Industry Association, one the leading Italian associations in the
marine industry. UCINA is dedicated to the development and promotion of
knowledge about the sea and boating tourism in Italy.
“We are grateful and pleased by UCINA’s recognition for our
work,” says Carlo Nuvolari, co-founder of Nuvolari Lenard. “We are particularly
honored that its 27th annual award ceremony took place in our
beloved Venice, where Nuvolari Lenard has had its design studio for nearly 25
years.”
Nuvolari Lenard is a major player in the international arena
of yacht design with groundbreaking exterior styling as well as interior
design. Currently, the studio has wide-ranging and diverse yachts in build at
several world-class builders such as Lürssen, Oceanco, CRN, Monte Carlo Yachts,
Adler Yachts, and Beneteau. Versatile in its approach to design, Nuvolari
Lenard’s projects span the gamut from semi-production yachts such as the entire
line at MCY (Monte Carlo Yachts) to a 105-meter environmentally-advanced
sailing yacht at Oceanco to a 139-meter ultra-custom motoryacht at Lürssen.
As “Nautical Pioneers,” Nuvolari Lenard is constantly on a
quest to discover the next new thing. Several Nuvolari Lenard-designed yachts
will be on display at the Festival de Plaisance in Cannes, France from 6-11
September 2016 and the Monaco Yacht Show 28 September – 1 October 2016. Both
senior partners, designer Dan Lenard and naval architect/engineer Carlo
Nuvolari, will be present at these shows.
Fun fact: End to end, the number of yachts NL has in
build today measures 3065 feet (932-meters) in length.
